I am surrounded by new mothers or mothers-to-be. The love you see in their eyes when they introduce you to their new babies is so deep and proud. Or, when they talk about the joy of their baby ready to be born is absolutely breathtaking. My granddaughter just had a new baby boy and another granddaughter is due in April, plus my art instructor just had a baby boy. No wonder my mind was on creating “Love at First Sight”!
Created on a 22” x 30” Strathmore 140lb cold-press paper with soft deckled edges on 2 sides. This is a mixed media piece with an acrylic background and the mother and baby painted in oil. Light varnish finish. I wanted to make this with soft colors to go along with the softness of a baby. The photos shows the painting with a gold frame and a white frame for demonstration purposes only to show how it would look in a home. However, The painting is sold as Unframed.
