“PAINTED VALOR” is my newest mixed media oil painting created on 30.0 x 21.5 inch mixed media heavy quality paper. Varnish finished. The inspiration for this painting comes from my family background. My mother and father were westerners in that they both loved horses and were interested in Native American tribes. I am fascinated by symbols and this pinto horse was painted to prepare for war. The turquoise stripes on his nose represents “count of war honors”, the blue spots on chest “prayer for hail to fall on enemies”, the red around eye “circle eye to see danger”, the red hand “message of the dead oath of vengeance “, the stripes down the leg “thunder stripe-God of Offensive War” and the green marks on hind quarters “the number of captured mounts”. Enjoy,
Sold in 3 inch wooden ornate frame with glass making it 33 x 26 inches. Website KayGilbertFineArt.com, category “Oil Paintings/ mixed media.
