I wanted to create an elegant woman wearing a straw bonnet with flowers. I was watching all of the women with their fancy hats at the Kentucky Derby and started looking for ideas for a charcoal sketch/watercolor painting and ended up with this creation. Enjoy, KAY!
Painting is 9” x 12” on watercolor paper sold in a glass floater frame. The background is made with very soft cream, purples, pinks with accents of gold. The flowers are outlined also with gold. Photos show it in glass floater frame which picks up the wall color such as white, black, etc.
